I have been lent the Claude Challe Buddha Bar compilations, which I
have been skipping through rather quickly - mostly I'm not drawn to
the all-too-hippie Indian-y sounds; too vocal & waily, although some
of the Algerian / Tunisian feel probably works excellently in the
actual Parisian bar setting...
But on to the meat of the story. There are two inclusions by Anima
Sound System which really are good (dubby ethnic funk) - and on
doing some searching (thank you AMG!) it was revealed that Anima
Sound System have released an album titled "Hungarian Astronaut"
in 2000.
Has anybody heard it - does anybody have it? It's on a label called
Ugar which I've never heard of before, and of course all the local
shops give me raised eyebrow looks when I ask about it.
Have they done anything else apart from that one album?
